Feeding Methods of Continuous Concrete Mixer

Through large quantity of investigations, we find that different aggregates feeding sequences will lead to different production efficiency, and here are some common aggregates feeding ways adopted by many construction projects, which can be a good reference for your construction works.

Generally speaking, it is common for many operators to feed all the aggregates at the same time. During the feeding process, operators tend to load sand before cement and gravels. That is to say, operators are used to primarily put sand to the hopper, and cement is the following material to be loaded and gravel is often been fed at the ending of the whole feeding procedure. When all the aggregates are loaded, the hopper will send them to the mixing drum to be stirred.

Cement premixing mode is another common mixing style in construction projects. For this mixing style, operators often firstly put cement and sand into mixing drum to be stirred. Then gravels will be loaded into the drum to be mixed together with the other aggregates. Most frequently, the stirring time of cement and sand is about 1 to 1.5 minutes. Compared with traditional mixing style, this mixing method can greatly increase cement intensity and it can also save cement consumption.

Sand enveloped cement (SEC) mixing method is the third common mixing style in construction projects. For this mixing method, operators will humidify dry sand to rise its water content to 15%-20%. Then they can load cement to the wet sand. Cement and wet sand will be stirred for a moment to realize fully mixture. At last gravels are fed into the mixture to form into concrete.
